[Also in Groups XXIX and XXX] The stroke of a ram 5 in a cylinder 3 is limited by a spring-loaded trigger 11 which, when the ram extends, engages a groove 3a. When the ram tends to rise further, the trigger pivots about a pin 14 and presses down a member 10 thereby opening a valve 8 and allowing the fluid supplied to the cylinder to return to exhaust via a passageway 5c and ports 3b.
