Class 79(5) [Also in Group XXXIV] In a motor cycle and side car combination the cycle 11 carries a mechanically operated rear wheel brake 4, and the master cylinder 6 of a hydraulically operated side - car wheel brake 8 is arranged beside and parallel to a link 3 or a cable (not shown) operating the brake 4. As shown in Fig. 1 the brake 4 is operated through the link 3 by a pedal 1. Clamped at 13 to the link 3 is the piston rod 12 of the cylinder 6 connected by a pipe 7 to the brake 8. The piston rod 12 may be articulated to the forked end 19 of the pedal 1, Fig. 2 (not shown). The cylinder 6 is mounted on the cycle 11 by a pin 16 passing through a plate 10 carried to the cycle, a spring 17 being arranged between the plate 10 and a nut 18 threadedly received on the pin 16.
