In apparatus for gasefying finely divided fuels the fuel from a hopper 10 is fed by a worm 7 into a mixer 8 and mixed with oxygen or air enriched with oxygen from a pipe 9 and a connection 12 leads from the pipe to a pressure gauge 13 connected through relays to close valve 14 in the pipe 9 and switch off the driving motor of the worm 7 when the pressure in the pipe 9 falls below a predetermined value.
