Abstract
785,429. Removing fumes and dust generated in industrial processes. VEREINIGTE ALUMINIUM-WERKE AKT.-GES. June 29, 1956 [July 19, 1955], No. 20277/56. Class 8(2). Recovery of dust and condensible fumes generated by an aluminium electrolysis bath (not shown) is effected by admitting air through controlled apertures in the walls of the workroom near the floor, passing dust and fume-laden air between turns of a sinuous water-cooled pipe 1, Fig. la, suspended by ropes 2 and which serve to condense the fumes, and finally passing dust-laden air through a known cyclone 11, Fig. 2, having a clean air discharge outlet 8 passing through the workroom roof and being connected to a revolving cowl 13. Condensed fumes collect in a trough 6 and dust collects in a cyclone chamber 12.
