Abstract

784,553. Mixing-machines. SOC. DES. CAOUTCHOUCS D'EXTREME ORIENT. Aug. 5, 1955 [Nov..30, 1954, June 21, 1955], No. 22570/55. Class 86 [Also in Group V] In apparatus for obtaining raw rubber from latex (see Group V) a predetermined amount of acid is added to each of a pair of mixing vats by tilting about its trunnion mounting 21 a container 15 extending throughout the length of the vat. Each vat contains a stirrer 16 comprising pairs of oppositely directed blades, each pair being inclined at right angles to the adjacent pairs. The stirrer may be rotated at about 130 r.p.m. After stirring the vats 1 are tilted about trunnion mountings 18 to pour the acid latex mixture through a spout 17 into coagulating shoots 2, the spout remaining in substantially the same horizontal plane as such tilting to avoid the formation of eddies in the shoots. Each vat 1 has a heating jacket 12 for the passage of a hot liquid.
