Abstract

A mixture of sulphite lye and an oleic acid is added to the mixing water in the production of mortar and concrete in such an amount that the proportion of oleic acid is 0,08-0,5 per cent dry weight of cement. A 20 per cent calcium chloride solution and an alkali metal nitrate solution e.g. an up to 20 per cent solution of sodium nitrate or potassium nitrate may be added preferably after the oleic acid has been emulsified in the sulphite lye; an emulsifier, e.g. triethanolamine may be used. The emulsion may be evaporated to a powder.
