In an hydraulic control valve having two or more valve plungers reciprocable in parallel bores and in which each plunger selectively controls three or more ports, each plunger is formed with grooved lands in each of which is mounted a rubber or rubber-like sealing ring. As shown, a casting 60 is formed with eight parallel bores, each of which slidably mounts a plunger 15. Three bores, 61, are arranged in a rear row and connected to separate fuel tanks through supply and return connections 63, 64 and five bores, 62, are arranged in a front row and connected to separate engines through supply and return connections 72, 73. Interconnecting ducts 69, 70 are common to all the bores. On the raising of a rear plunger each of which has four grooved lands with a sealing ring, the tank associated therewith is connected to the ducts 69, 70. On the raising of a front plunger, each of which has three grooved lands with a sealing ring, the ducts 69, 70 are connected to the engine associated with that plunger. The arrangement being that any tank may be selectively connected to any engine. For convenience in manufacture the casting may be split at right angles to the plunger bores into several separate parts, the individual bores may be formed as spigots and sockets which fit together when the casting is bolted up or alternatively the alignment of the bores may be achieved by dowels or fitted bolts.
