Abstract

783,649. Rotary pumps. TECHNICON INTERNATIONAL, Ltd. July 27, 1955 [Oct. 22, 1954], No. 21736/55. Class 110 (2). In a pump for pumping a plurality of fluids through a series of flexible tubes 44 each tube is connected to an inlet pipe 12 and an outlet pipe 14 carried by junction boxes 34A and 34B respectively which are mounted on a platen 18. The platen 18 is made of phenolic impregnated fabric and is resiliently mounted on an aluminium or steel base 16. The operating mechanism comprises conveyers 58, 60 riding on tracks 54, 56 which are carried by a plate 52 pivoted to the base 16 as at 74 to permit removal of the tubes for cleaning, the conveyers being interconnected by pins 112 carrying tubeengaging rollers 120. The conveyers are driven by a motor and variable-speed drive 131 and gearing 127, 122, 124. The junction box 34B may be modified to effect mixing of the fluids being pumped (see Fig. 5, not shown).
