Class 123(1) [Also in Group XXVIII] A device for indicating when the liquid in a butane cylinder B, Fig. 9, falls below a predetermined level comprises a float 14 having a guided rod 15 visible through a window 45 in the cylinder wall. In a modification the rod passes through an aperture in the discharge valve connection and is viewed through a transparent hood in gas tight engagement with said connection. In a further modification the transparent hood 27. Fig. 5 through which the upper end of the indicating rod 26 is viewed is screwed into the cylinder head H and is threaded to the guide tube 12, and the rod 26 has a disc 23 which when seated on the inner open end 22 of the hood 27 limits upward movement of the rod and also prevents escape of gas in the event of fracture of the external part of the hood.
