Abstract
782,131. Reservoir pens. MABIE, TODD & CO., Ltd. Jan. 26, 1956 [Jan. 31, 1955], No. 2877/55. Class 146(3) A reservoir pen has means for deflating the sac comprising two presser bars on opposite sides of the sac both actuated by a member movable longitudinally relative to the presser-bars, whereby deflation is effected on a relative movement of the member in one direction and inflation is permitted on relative movement thereof in the opposite direction, as shown, the pen comprises a barrel 1, Figs. 1 and 4, a tubular plunger 5 slidable in grooves 10 in a bush 4, and a pair of presser bars 6 attached to a leaf spring 7. The bush 4 is screwed into the rear end of the barrel 1 and receives an inner bush 9 which receives the leaf spring 7. The presser bars 6 have cam surfaces formed by lugs 6a, Fig. 7, which are engaged by the plunger upon its withdrawal from the barrel 1, Figs. 1 and 4, to force the presser bars 6 towards one another, thereby deflating the sac 8.
