781,717. Ships' form. MAIER, E. R. F. June 9, 1955 [June 19, 1954], No. 16629/55. Class 113. In a ship's fore body of Maier form having parallel triangular frame sections, the foreship is given at the bow a deadwood or skeg a so that the position of the centres of area and the individual sectional areas of the frame sections remain the same as with a Maier form foreship without deadwood so that the lower water lines are given the form of an S curve, and the position of the centre of buoyancy remains in the same longitudinal position. The front edge of the deadwood or skeg forms an angle of not less than 20 degrees to the vertical while the bottom edge slopes up forwardly at about 5 degrees. Specifications 157,993, 290,964 and 290,965 [all in Class 113(ii)] are referred to.
