Abstract
780,476. Treating gases with discharges. WALTER INSTRUMENTS, Ltd. May 11, 1954 [May 11, 1953], No. 13145/53. Class 39(1). [Also in Group XL(c)] An ozoniser 13 consists of a neon discharge lamp in which the two internal electrodes are connected together to form one electrode of the ozoniser, and a metal gauze 14 fitted over the exterior of the glass bulb forms the other electrode. The ozoniser is supplied through a transformer 17 and a Hartley thermionic valve oscillator circuit (see Group XL(c)), all mounted within a louvered box 11. The frequency of the oscillator is in the range 100 to 1,000 c.p.s., and preferably, a flat topped waveform is used. The oscillator circuit may be energized by A.C. or D.C.
