Abstract

A high speed tool steel comprises the following percentages by weight: C 0.6-2.5, Si up to 1, Mn at least 0.31-1, S 0.05-0.5, P up to 0.04, Cr 2-9, V 0.5-7, W 0-24, Mo 0-12 (W + 2 Mo 8-24), Co 0-15, the remainder Fe with usual amounts of residual impurities including Ni, Cu, Ta, Cb and Ti.
