778,964. Doors and gates, operating- appliances for. JOHNSON, S. J. Dec. 30, 1955 [Dec. 30, 1954], No. 37610/54. Class 65 (1). A sliding overhead door 10 for a garage or like is hinged at 19 to a bogie 15 which runs on rollers 14 engaging in a pair of horizontal channel rails 12. A hook - like bracket 29 attached adjacent each side of the door is urged vertically upwards by spring - loaded plunger 22 as the door is opened until the door is supported in a horizontal position partly protruding beyond the front of the garage. By means of a cord or handle the door may then be slid back horizontally until it is completely stowed in the garage. During this operation rollers 27 mounted on the tops of the plungers 22 disengage from the brackets 29 and run on tracks 30 on the door.
