778,757. Sewing machines. PFAFF AKT.- GES., G. M. Jan. 6, 1956 [Jan. 7, 1955], No. 527/56. Class 112. [Also in Group XXIV] Ornamental stitching is controlled by selective engagement of one of a number of pattern cam discs 12 by radial fingers 11 arranged on a member 5 rotatably mounted on a spring-loaded rocking lever 3 or slide member coupled to the needle bar or other adjustable part of the sewing machine. Coupling is effected through a pin 18 on the lever or slide member. The fingers are arranged in a helical path on the member 5 and in a co-planar manner with respect to the cams. The member 5 is mounted on a shaft 7 carrying a control handle 10 and an 'indicator disc 8 with peripheral tongues 14 which may be engaged by a spring-loaded locating pin 15.
