Abstract
778,538. Non-refillable bottles. KLAUS, L. Jan. 24, 1956, No. 2371/56. Class 66. The neck 1 of the bottle houses an insert 3 formed with a constriction 9 that acts as a seating for a valve member 10 coupled to a weight 11 below the lower end of the insert. The insert has a radial flange 4 which co-operates with an annular constriction 2 at the base of the neck of the bottle ; a recess 5 into which the flange 4 is bent whilst the insert is being forced past the constriction 2; and an inclined edge 7 that prevents the flange 4 from bending sufficiently downwards to permit the insert to be withdrawn from the bottle past the constriction 2. The insert 3 houses at its top two head parts 13 and 14 which are preferably made of porcelain so that they cannot be drilled. These parts 13, 14 have inclined openings co-operating to form zig-zag channels, correct alignment of the parts 13, 14 being ensured by a projection on the one fitting into a groove in the other. The insert 3 and valve 10 may be of polyethylene. Lateral openings 8 are formed in the lower part of the insert.
