778,413. Assembly jigs for aircraft. SHORT BROS. & HARLAND, Ltd. Aug. 19, 1955 [Sept. 9, 1954], No. 26163 /54. Class 4. [Also in Group XXIII] A jig structure for assembly of aircraft components comprises a plurality of interchangeable tubular elements A, B and C each having end flanges which may be integral with the tubes as shown or may be loosely mounted and held by spring circlips, said flanges being drilled as at 12 for attachment to junction members D of hollow cubic form, formed with hand holes 213. Where necessary, to provide adjustment in length, tubular elements may be threaded internally at the ends to receive flanges with threaded extensions. Hollow rectangular blocks having one face drilled to match the holes in junction members, for attachment thereto, may be used for the location of the aircraft component being assembled in the jig.
