778,343. Loading machines incorporating conveyers. GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA. July 15, 1955 [Sept. 14, 1954], No. 20525/55. Class 78 (1). [Also in Group XXI] In a drag-pick loader for mined material the pick blade 22 is carried by parallel linkage from an arm 18 pivoted to a support structure 14 of the loader frame, the parallel linkage comprising a further arm 19 pivoted to the end of the arm 18 and a parallel link 23 also pivoted to arm 18, the free ends of arm 19 and link 23 being pivoted at spaced points 21 and 24 to the pick blade. The arm 18 is pivoted about a horizontal pin 17 to an intermediate member 16 in turn pivoted about a vertical pin 15 to the structure 14, so that it can be slewed in addition to being luffed. A cylinder 30 is connected between the member 16 and arm 18 for luffing the latter. Arm 19 is swingable relative to arm 18 by a further cylinder 26 connected between it and the pin 17. In operation, the arm 18 is adjusted by the cylinder 30 while the pick is reciprocated by the cylinder 26, the pick remaining at the same inclination during the latter movement. Material is thereby fed to a shovel 11 which is recessed centrally behind its cutting edge to accommodate an endless scraper conveyer which delivers the material to a truck 13.
