Abstract

865,512. Shovelling machines. EIMCO CORPORATION. May 19, 1959 [June 4, 1958], No. 16941/59. Class 68(1) In an overthrow shovelling machine the scoop 64 is secured between arms 60 that are secured to the ends of a rotatable shaft 36 horizontally supported at the front of a self propelled chassis and is swung up about the axis of this shaft by a winch 130 hauling on a chain 128 passing over a lever frame 124, that is secured to only one of the arms 60, before being dead ended on the arm 60. Return of the scoop to the lowered position when the winch is freed is by gravity. The scoop discharges into a hopper 28 on the chassis, and from the hopper material is removed upwards and rearwards by an endless scraper conveyer.
