Abstract
778,018. Crochetwork and lace. BERGISCHE GARDINENINDUSTRIE GES., and DITTRICH, R. July 19, 1955 [July 21, 1954], No. 20823/55. Class 74 (1). In forming a patterned lace-like fabric in which the warp threads K are crocheted into chains by needles 9, there is, in the case of selected filling threads S, superimposed upon the single-needle pitch traverse imparted to these threads S by the reciprocation of a member 2 bearing their guides 1, an additional traverse, by reason of the jacquard controlled projection, into the sheet of filling threads of members 4 borne by a holder 5 which also reciprocates, but with twice the amplitude of the holder 2. Filler threads, carried down below the plane of the needles by fingers 10 on a rockable shaft 11, are thus taken by one or two needles, according to the traverse imparted to them. Fig. 5 shows the incorporation of a filling thread S<SP>1</SP>, at times in the warp chain K<SP>1</SP> only and, at others, together with the adjacent filling thread S<SP>2</SP>, in warp chain K<SP>2</SP> also.
