Abstract

1,036,614. Knitting machines ; warp fabrics. WERKMASCHINENBAU LIMBACH-OBERFROHNA VEB. May 7, 1963, No. 18034/63. Headings D1C and D1K. A warp knitting machine comprises two rows of eyed needles 1, 2 (Fig. 1) inclined with respect to the longitudinal axis of the needle bar and arranged to knit in co-operating pairs, one from each bed, each eyed needle being provided with a depression 6 on the side facing the direction of inclination of the respective needle and each needle of one row having its free end 5 lying opposite the depression of the corresponding needle of the other row. Figs 3 and 4 (not shown) indicate the sequence necessary for the transfer of a loop 8 from the eye of a needle 2a to a needle 1a over its own existing loop 9. Fig 6 (not shown) indicates the introduction of a weft thread by means of a guide 11 over the needle 2a prior to the transfer of loop 8 from the needle 2a to the needle 1a and Fig. 8 indicates diagramatically the fabric produced by this method.
