Abstract
777,599. Making pressure vessels; welding by fusion. WHESSOE, Ltd. Jan. 3, 1956 [Oct. 18, 1954], No. 29975/54. Classes 83 (2) and 83 (4). A pressure vessel comprises an apertured wall 2 a ring 1 welded into the apertured wall 2 and having a thickness which increases smoothly from a value at its outer edge equal to the thickness of the wall 2 to a substantially greater thickness at its inner edge, and at least one annular flange 4 or 5 on the ring to which a branch pipe 6 or 7 is welded. As shown, there are two branch pipes welded to opposed flanges.
