Abstract
775,609. Motor vehicles. MULLER, J. March 18, 1955 [Nov. 18, 1954], No. 7987/55. Classes 79(2), 79(3) and 79(4). [Also in Group XXXII] In a power driven front steerable wheel assembly, each of a pair of wheels is carried by a suspension arrangement (see Group XXXII) on a bracket 44 rigid with a wing 41, which is rotatable on ball bearings on a fixed ring 40 rigid with a frame part 28. An adjustable connecting rod is pivotally connected between each wheel supporting arm 6 and a lever 53, corresponding to each arm 6. The levers 53 are pivoted on a common shaft 54 and each is formed by two spaced plates between which is located a loose pulley 57 by which the latter is connected to a drum pulley of the corresponding wheel 1c. A chain wheel 58 is fixed to the pulley 57 and is driven through a chain from a chain wheel 59 keyed to shaft 54 and driven from an engine-gear box 62, the arrangement being such that suspension movements of the arms 6 effect corresponding oscillatory movements of the levers 53 carrying the driving pulleys 57, which oscillate around the shaft 54. The vehicle is driven and steered by means of a steering member 65 which includes control means 67 for the power unit.
