Abstract

774,449. Transformers. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. May 24, 1955 [June 10, 1954], No. 14975/55. Addition to 769,038. Class 38 (2). A variable transformer has two relatively rotatable core elements, on one of which the secondary winding is distributed as required in the invention of the parent Specification, and the other of which, bearing the primary winding, has salient poles with straight ends to form narrow pole faces so that a large number of harmonics are generated in the secondary winding. The linearity of the variation of output voltage with displacement angle is thereby improved.
