[Also in Group XXV] In a stud chain comprising one or more studs 2 in each link 1, each stud 2 is formed at each of its concave ends with at least two projections 3 which are situated symmetrically on opposite sides of a central plane through the concave end surfaces of the stud and effect an automatic centring of the stud in the link. The cold stud is sealed in position by subjecting the heated sides of the link to hammering or pressing operations acting in the direction of the arrows so that the projections 3 penetrate into the sides of the link. The projections 3 may have a shape other than the rounded one shown.
