A chain element adapted to be incorporated in the conveying element of an endless en-masse conveyer for grain and like material comprises a link bar having a head portion at one end on opposite sides of which a pair of flight members are detachably secured, the head portion and opposite end of the link being formed as complementary pivotal portions. In one embodiment, Figs. 2 and 3, the link element 13 has a bifurcated head 14 adapted to receive the opposite end of the preceding element, aligned bores being provided in the head and opposite ends to receive a connecting pin 23 having reduced-diameter portions 27, 28. Each flight member 31 includes a foot 32 having a slot 33 adapted to engage the corresponding reduceddiameter portion of the pin 23 to hold the parts together, the two feet being additionally held in position and preventing from twisting by further pins 34, 35 connected together at one side by a strap 36, these pins being passed through aligned bores in the feet and in head 14 and being held in place by a washer 37 and spring clip 38, engaged in grooves in the pins. In another embodiment (Fig. 7, not shown) of heavier construction, the pins 34, 35 are replaced by a single bolt and nut. In a further embodiment, Fig. 5, the foot 32a of each flight 31a includes a bore 47 having a key slot 48 in its periphery, and a key slot 49 is provided in the bore at the opposite end of the link bar, arranged at right angles to the key slot 48. The link bars are interconnected by pins 23a, each having three key projections spaced along its length. Owing to the arrangements of the key slots two adjacent links have to be turned at right angles as at 13a to insert or remove the pin 23a, which is retained in position upon straightening out the links, owing to the two outer key projections 43 on the pin 23a engaging the outside of the feet 32a, the middle key projection being engaged in the key slot 49. To prevent twisting of the flights another pin 50 having reduced diameter portions is passed through a bore in the head 14, slots 54 in the feet 32a being engaged in the reduced-diameter portions prior to pin 23a being inserted.
