Abstract

In wire conveyer belts of the kind comprising a plurality of parallel, transversely extending, substantially rigid rods 11, and a plurality of belt sections each comprising a multiplicity of parallel, longitudinally extending wire links 13 pivotally connected to and between a pair of adjacent rods 11, with the link ends of one belt section alternately spaced between the link ends of the adjoining belt section along a common transverse rod 11, each link 13 comprises a single straight wire having loop ends mounted about respective adjacent transverse rods 11, each looped end having a pair of spaced, parallel straight portions 15, 16 extending longitudinally of the link and receiving a respective transverse rod 11 therebetween as a close fit, so as to constrain the link for relative movement about the rod in the general plane of the belt. The links 13 may be braced by rods 20 which are welded to the link and abut links 12 of side chains which carry the rods 11.
