Abstract

911,254. Endless conveyers. LANE & SONS Ltd., GEORGE. Jan. 9, 1961 [Jan. 8, 1960], No. 692/60. Class 78 (1). In an endless conveyer of the kind comprising a series of cross-rods 5 interconnected at one or both ends by an endless chain or chains, the or each chain has hollow link pins 8 arranged on reduced-diameter portions of the rods 5, and latch plates 11 are provided, each being secured by a bolt 13 to the inner face of the chain and arranged to engage grooves in the rods 5 to retain the chain or chains on the rods. Each latch plate may have either longitudinal slots in its ends to engage the grooves, the plate then being secured to the adjacent chain link 7b by a single bolt 13, or arcuate slots concentric with the axis of the bolt 13 (Fig. 3, not shown), in which case an extra bolt is used in addition to the bolt 13 to prevent rotation of the latch plate about the axis of the bolt 13. The chain has inner and outer pairs of links 6a, 6b and 7a, 7b, bushes 9 interconnecting the inner links, and rollers 10 journalled on the bushes. Longitudinally extending wire elements may be provided between the cross-rods 5 intermediate their ends.
