770,500. Resin-bonded fibre-board &c. AKTIEBOLAGET STATENS SKOGSINDUSTRIER. April 22, 1955 [April 27, 1954], No. 11627/55 Class 96. Water-resistant wood-fibre boards or mineral wool mats are made by adding to pulp or to wet-felted fibre, e.g. by blowing as a fine mist thereon, a copolymerisate of phenol, alkyl phenols, and formaldehyde, containing up to 30 per cent of alkyl phenol groups as hydrophobic groups in the plastic molecule. The product may be pressed at 30 to 80 kg/cm<SP>2</SP> to obtain hard wall board. Butyl and octyl phenol, urea and melamine resins with alkyl groups, and modified alkyd plastics are mentioned.
