Class 71 An inverted coneshaped jet-forming member 2 located above the flared open end 6 of the uptake pipe 1 of a high vacuum diffusion pump has a ridge 5 serving to return droplets of working fluid, e.g. oil condensed on the jet member 3 back to the pipe 1. The diameter of the ridge 5 is greater than that of the pipe 1 but is less than that of the flared end 6.
