Class 97(3) A device for setting the angular position of the spindle of an electrical instrument comprises means for supporting the instrument at the centre of a dial, a pointer supported for rotation about the centre of the dial and a light arm for securing to the instrument spindle and coupling to the pointer at a point remote from the centre of the dial. In the form shown the instrument, a synchro 7, is mounted at the centre of a dial 1 in the housing 5 being secured by a split muff 9 flanged to engage a groove 8 in the synchro body, the muff being held either by clamps 11 secured by screws 13 or by clamps 14 pivoted at 15 to spring loaded rods 16. The pointer 23 is carried on a ball bearing 20 also mounted on the housing 5 and is coupled to the synchro spindle through an arm 28 carrying a pin 33 held in contact with a pin 34, secured to the pointer perpendicular to the pin 33. The pins are held in contact by a spring loaded plunger, not shown, on the pointer. The arm 28 is secured to a sleeve 29, on the synchro spindle, within which is a sleeve 30, engaging a spline on the spindle, and, within that, a sleeve 31 engaging a screwthread on the spindle. By tightening the sleeve 31 the sleeves are locked on to the spindle and the arm 28 secured to it. The pointer is adjustably located, with reference to any one of a number of pins 27 secured round the periphery of the dial by the upper part of the pointer which is constructed in accordance with Specification 711,043.
