769,645. Releasable fastenings. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. May 6, 1955 [May 27, 1954], No. 13177/55. Class 44. [Also in Group IX] A clip for securing a flexible covering 28, for example a carpet or mat, in position on a floor or other surface 24 comprises a U-shaped metal strip formed from a blank having complementary serrations 18, 20 at opposite ends bent inwardly towards each other, so that, by inwardly bending the arms 14, 16 of the strip, they may be caused to intermesh and bite into the flexible covering material at the edge, and having on one of said arms an outwardlyprojecting tab 22 which is engageable behind the bent lip 38 of a projecting sill-plate 32 so as to hold in position the edge of the covering to which the clip is attached. As shown, two tabs 22 are provided.
