Abstract

1330005 Covering sheets for roofs, walls &c of buildings COMALCO Ltd and N WADDLETON 9 July 1970 2092/73 Divided out of 1330004 Headings E1K and E1W A covering sheet for roofs, walls &c of buildings comprises a sheet formed with at least one upstanding generally U-shaped rib 20 in each side of which, adjacent its junction with the general plane of the sheet, there is formed a groove for cooperation with a respective arm 38 of a two-armed fixing clip within the rib, the mouth of each of the grooves facing upwardly at an angle to the horizontal to prevent relative movement between the free ends of the arms 38 and the side walls of the ribs when the sheet is applied over the clips which have previously been fixed to e.g. a roof batten. The fixing of the sheet is rendered more secure by a strip 46 of springy material having raised portions which engage the underside of the sheet to urge it upwardly so that the arms 38 are firmly engaged in the grooves in the sheet. Each groove is formed by bent portions 22, 26 of the sheet. Additional ribs 28 are provided between adjacent ribs 20. Also, end ribs 12, 16 of similar form to the ribs 20 are provided, these ribs, however, being formed respectively as male and female connecting elements, the latter having a depression 18 to prevent capillary action. The mounting arrangement for the clips is the subject matter of the parent Specification.
