Class 19 A liquid applying device comprises a brush secured to a weight 8, the brush-weight unit being accommodated when retracted within an internal chamber 4 in a member 3 forming the tip of the device and in a passage from the chamber to the exterior of the tip, the tip being attached to a tubular casing 1 comprising the reservoir of the device being such that the brush is moved by the weight outwardly through the passage into its operative position when the casing is inverted and retracts into the cavity when the casing is erect. The casing 1 may be of resilient flexible material so that liquid may be expressed by pressure on the casing and a flow restricting plate 11 may be provided, the aperture 12 in the plate being covered by the weight when the container is erect.
