Abstract

578,402. Collapsable tubes. CAMPFENS. C. J., and DALSTRA, H. March 6, 1942, No. 2955. [Class 66] The contents of a collapsable tube in a holder 4, Figs. 1 and 4, are expressed by pressing forwardly a back plate 2 hinged at 3, a spring 14 at the hinge urging the plate 2 backwardly. As the plate 2 moves forwardly, it releases a hinged cover 7, allowing it to be opened by a spring 13. The nozzle of the tube projects through a slot 5 allowing it to move forwardly as the tube becomes empty whereupon part of the shoulder of the tube is accommodated in a recess 15. In modifications, a hinged strut, or a lever with a spring and ratchet facilitate pressing the plate 2 forwardly.
