Abstract
768,940. Ice making. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. May 25, 1955 [June 15, 1954], No. 15073/55. Class 29 A grid for freezing tray has two upwardly convergent longitudinal walls 21 passing through apertures 24 in a plusality of transverse movable walls 23 and surmounted by slidable bars 22 having notches 41 into which the transverse walls 23 engage, movement of the transverse walls and release of the ice blocks being effected by motion 'of the slidable bars 22. The invention resides in the provision of widened sections 26 at the top of apertures 24 into which the bars 22 fit and ar held in position by clips 44 on one end transverse wall 23 and by operative links 38 on the other. One end of each of the longitudinal walls is raised for the reception of a pin 34 about which pivots a handle 35 having side flanges 36 through which passes a second pin 37. At the ends of the pin 37 are pivoted links 38 each notched to fill the space in apertures 24 in the end transverse wall after the longitudinal walls have been inserted and to engage the end transverse wall. The grid operates as does that described in Specification 739,636 [Group XII].
