Abstract

898,088. Ice-making. BILLINGHAM, A. C. Sept. 13, 1960 [June 18, 1959], No. 20913/59. Class 29 In apparatus for making frozen confections, e.g. ice-lollies, having elongated mould cups 10 depending from the base 11 of a tray 12, the major transverse axis of each cup is oblique to the length of the tray. It is stated that this allows a greater number of cups to the same size of tray. The stick holder, Figs. 3 and 4, consists of stationary plates 21, 22a having aligned oblique slots 21b and an intermediate movable plate 20 having oblique slots 20b overlapping but out of register with slots 21b. By operation of handle 25 this plate is caused to move obliquely in the direction of the axis of the slots to grip and release sticks of elongated cross-section extending through apertures 21b, 20b into the cups. The plate 20 is guided by oblique slots 20a working on fixed studs 23. Specifications 864,563 and 864,564 are referred to.
