Abstract

721,122. Ice-making. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Aug. 10, 1953 [Aug. 9, 1952], No. 22034/53. Class 29. In an ice tray having a grid comprising a longitudinal divider 3 passing through central slots 15 in transverse dividers 4, the compartments are further subdivided by one or more further longitudinal dividers 20, 21 passing through inclined slots 17, 16 in the dividers 4. The blocks are freed by the pivoting of a lever 10 which, through links 8 constituting the upper part of a divider 3 and having each a shoulder 9 engaging the corresponding divider 4, pulls the dividers towards the vertical position. In this position the outer rows of blocks are supported by inturned parts 14 of dividers 4 in a similar manner to that described in Specification 677,307 and the inner rows are supported by the inclined dividers 20, 21. As shown the ends 22 of these dividers are bent and are also deformed at 24 to retain the assembly in shape. In a modification the dividers 20, 21 are straight so as to be removable from the grid.
