Class 29 An ice tray for producing ice chips made of flexible resilient material with handles 7 at each end, has a multiplicity of parallel partitions 11, 12, forming compartments of wafer-like thickness arranged in at least two rows, spaced apart from the tray sides. Twisting of the tray by the handles causes the ice to resolve into chips. 'Further structural rigidity may be provided by additional partition walls 17, 17<SP>1</SP> extending from the side walls and staggered relative to each other and a partition extending across the tray at each end. Partitions 12 may be higher than partitions 11 to allow superimposition of trays. Notches 18, 19 permit the free flow of the liquid to be frozen.
