Abstract
767,077. Delay networks. SADIR-CARPENTIER. March 21, 1955 [March 19, 1954], No. 8187/55. Class 40 (8). A delay line comprises a sheet 3 of high dielectric constant ceramic material, e.g. barium titanate, having a metallic coating 5 on one face and a sinuous metallic strip 6 extending over the other face. In order to prevent coupling between adjacent loops these are separated by a distance equal to the thickness of the dielectric layer 3. A composite delay line may be formed by arranging two sheets 3, Fig. 7, back to back with a common metallic layer 5 between them. Two such composite sheets may be arranged on either side of an insulating sheet 8 having a relatively low dielectric constant. Impedance mismatch at the bends in the strips 6 may be minimized by modifying the cross-section of the strip.
