Abstract
The ionisation electrodes are used in a corona unit, used for discharging a moving web, the electrodes comprising an insulating band, with one or more continuous parallel conductor tracks running longitudinally along one face of the insulating band. The thin conductor tracks may be rectilinear and they may be provided on the insulating band by metallic vacuum deposition. The thickness of the conductor tracks is preferably a maximum of 50 microns and their width is preferably a maximum of 2 millimetres. Two such insulating bands may be used, one connected to earth and the other to HT source.
