[Also in Group XXV] In a weather shield for motor-cycles and the like of the kind comprising a transparent screen 1 and a flexible or rigid apron 2 depending from the lower part of the screen, the screen being provided with supports for attaching it to the handlebars and the apron having a gap at its middle for accommodating the headlamp of the motor-cycle with a weather tight joint between the apron and the lamp, the screen and apron are arranged to be relatively adjustable up or down and to be held together in adjusted position by clamping devices capable of fastening the lower part of the screen 1 to the upper part of the apron 2. The clamping device may consist of a screw operated band-like clip 6, Fig. 2, consisting of sections 7 each provided with a hook 8 which embraces the edges 9 of the screen and apron. The inner edges of the sections 7 terminate in nuts 10 for the reception of a screw 11 which when tightened operates to draw the sections 7 towards one another and secure the screen 1 to the apron 2. Friction pads 12 assist in securing the screen to the apron through the band-like clip 6. The nuts 10 are provided by twining the inner ends of the sections 7 with sleeves 13 for reception of tapped barrels 14, the sleeves 13 being diametrically bored to take the screw 11. An alternative form of clamping device, Fig. 5, consists of a strap 15 extending across the front part of the apron 2, the strap supporting at each end a clamping device 16 provided with a screw operated movable jaw 17 capable of pressing the adjoining margins of the screen 1 into frictional engagement with the apron 2. The clamping device is fixed by a screw 18 to the strap 15 and the jaw 17 is connected to the clamp 16 by a screw 19. The clamp 16 and movable jaw 17 have co-acting inclined planes 20.
