Abstract

A fluid saponified natural resin is mixed with a finely powdered hydraulic binder in amount sufficient only to from a stiff paste, dried, first in air then in a machine at a higher temperature, e.g. 70 DEG -80 DEG C., and ground to powder. In addition slaked lime and an oil emulsion may be added.ALSO:A composition for addition to mortars is obtained by mixing a fluid saponified natural resin with a finely powdered hydraulic binder in amount sufficient only to form a stiff paste, drying first in air then in a drying apparatus at a higher temperature (e.g. 70 DEG -80 DEG C.) and grinding to powder. Specified binders are cement, lime (hydraulic, slaked, or unslaked) and plaster. The addition composition may also be mixed with further slaked lime and an oil emulsion (e.g. of train or drilling oil) for waterproofing.
