Abstract

765,116. Folding mattress frames. SLUMBERLAND, Ltd. June 28, 1955 [July 7, 1954], No. 19851/54. Class 52 (4). In a hinge arrangement connecting the two parts a, b of the angle iron sides of a mattress frame, the blades c, d of the hinge are secured by rivets g and studs h to the underside of the horizontal flanges so that the knuckle e projects above these flanges and an angle iron locking plate k is bolted on to studs g so that its vertical flange abuts the vertical flanges of the frame and its horizontal flange abuts the hinge blades c, d. The central post of the horizontal flange of the locking plate is cut away to accommodate the heads of rivets g and domed parts m of the locking plate surround the studs h to receive deformed parts of the latter acting to retain the hinge blades.
