Abstract

764,703. Disposing of empty bottles in bars. GASKELL & CHAMBERS, Ltd. May 2, 1955 [May 5, 1954], No. 13073/54. Class 116. A flexible duct 5 for receiving empty bottles delivers them to a rotary table 10 on which they are stored. As illustrated the opening of the duct 5 is flush with a counter 6 and the duct is supported by adjustable springs 9 from a floor 8 above a cellar in which is mounted the rotary table 10. The table 10 is conical and has an upstanding rim 10a and upstanding pins 11 which cause the bottles to take up tangential positions on the table. A flexible flap 12 normally closes the end of the duct 5 which directs the bottles tangentially on to the table against the direction of rotation. An electric motor 14 driving the table may be controlled by a switch operated when a flap 7 at the entry to the duct 5 is open. The flap 7 may also operate a valve admitting to the duct 5 a stream of water which passes from the duct through holes (not shown) in it. Shallow bends in the duct 5 may reduce the speed of fall of the bottles.
