Abstract

904,530. Screw conveyers. JACKSON & CROCKATT Ltd., J. G., and GAIR, D. Nov. 10, 1960 [Nov. 24, 1959], No. 39770/59. Class 78(1). In a machine for filling powder into a container, the powder is discharged through nozzle 17 by worm 13 and passes into detachable nozzle 21 and thence into the container. Worm 13 carries an end-plate 10 so that when the worm is not working powder is prevented from falling into nozzle 21. Nozzle 21 is secured to nozzle 17 by screws 23 which engage flange 24 formed on nozzle 17. The plate 10 alternatively may be secured to nozzle 21.
