Abstract

A composition suitable for use as a chemical reagent, particularly as a vulcanization agent for silicone rubber, comprises a mixture of 35 to 70 per cent by weight of an organic peroxide wherein the organic group is a halogenated or hydrogenated aromatic ring, particularly dichlorobenzoyl peroxide or cyclohexanone peroxide, and 30 to 65 per cent by weight of a liquid organopolysiloxane, particularly a dimethyl- or methylphenyl-polysiloxane. The composition is stated to be relatively non-inflammable.ALSO:A composition suitable for use as a chemical reagent, particularly as a vulcanization agent for silicone rubber, comprises a mixture of 35 to 70 per cent by weight of an organic peroxide wherein the organic group is a halogenated or hydrogenated aromatic ring, particularly a dimethyl- or methylphenylpolysiloxane. The composition is stated to be relatively non-inflammable and non-explosive.
