Abstract

A composition for application to the feet comprises from 0.2 to 20% by weight of liquid, ethanol-soluble alkylarylpolysiloxane, an anti-bacterial substance serving to inhibit the decomposition of sweat and a major proportion of a volatile liquid which is non-irritant to the feet, e.g. water, co-opropanol or ethanol. Specified anti-bacterial substances are 2,21-dihydroxy - 3,5,6,31,51,61 - hexachlorodiphenymethane; bis - (5 - chloro - 2 - hydroxyphenyl) - methane and tetramethylthiuram disulphonate.
