Abstract

A deodorant in which a solid deodorant composition, comprising a major proportion of p-dichlorobenzene and between 1 and 8 per cent by weight, based on the p-dichlorobenzene, of an alcoholic solution of essential oils, encloses a pad or wick of an absorbent natural or synthetic material. There may also be incorporated between 1 and 8 per cent by weight, based on the dichlorobenzene, of a mixture of chloroxylenol and chlorocresol in which the ratio by weight of the xylenol to the cresol is between 1:6 and 6:1. A minor proportion of camphor in a proportion of between 1 and 3 per cent by weight based on the p-dichlorobenzene may also be incorporated.
