762,939. Making torch cases &c. SONG & CO., Ltd., V. K. Oct. 6, 1955 [Dec. 21, 1954], No. 36950/54. Drawings to Specification. Class 83 (2). A method of producing a torch case or similar two-diameter shell in which both diameters are small compared with the overall length comprises cold impact extruding a solid metal slug to form an intermediate cylindrical shell having the larger diameter and then deep drawing to reduce the diameter over the desired length. There are preferably tapered portions joining the bottom and sides of the intermediate shell and the smaller and larger diameter sections of the final case. The torch case is preferably of aluminium.
